Beekeeping Essentials – every 3rd Saturday of the Month

$90.00

This course runs for 2 hours 30 minutes, including a break for tea or coffee with Gluten Free biscuits provided

It’s  designed to provide people who want to learn the essentials of beekeeping before they get bees and to maintaining their own hive once they have a beehive.

As livestock Bees require an appropriate environment and maintenance schedule to ensure a healthy and productive colony for those of us who love our golden harvest from our honey bees.

If time permits I will open up a beehive at the end of the session to provide a taste of whats to come when you have your own beehive (s)

Please let me know if you need to borrow one of my beekeeping suits for the inspection and provide me with your size requirements.

Description

This course can be delivered to individuals and groups.  In this course I focus on why you are wanting to be a beekeeper, have you got the appropriate location for a beehive (or more) and what you need to purchase in preparation before you get your first colony of bees.   We will also cover the legal requirements for keeping bees.  While I believe students will benefit more from a training session in my training environment, including the workshop that can be used by students, I can deliver the course at your home, which enables me to assess your preferred location for a beehive.
