Nurturing Adelaide's beekeeping community with expertise, passion, and hands-on guidance.
Who is Aphrodite?
As a second-generation beekeeper, Aphrodite has been immersed in the world of bees for over 30 years, working closely with her father and cultivating a lifelong passion for beekeeping.
Driven by a desire to deepen her expertise, she proactively joined the Beekeepers’ Society of South Australia (BSSA) several years ago, actively engaging with both recreational and commercial beekeepers across the state to share insights and expand her knowledge.
Aphrodite also delivers training to the BSSA members attending the Monthly meetings. Initially to the Beginners Class but in 2025 she is delivering training to the Intermediate class, providing 45 minutes of content in an interactive session to foster networking opportunities for the society members
After retiring from a long career in government service, Aphrodite is now able to dedicate herself fully to managing her own hives and supporting those of friends and clients.
Recently qualified in both beekeeping and training, she’s now positioned to lead workshops as part of the National Varroa Management Program. With a wealth of hands-on experience and formal training,
Aphrodite brings both practical guidance and a collaborative spirit to every session. She’s passionate about equipping beekeepers of all levels to identify and manage challenges like varroa, ensuring the health and sustainability of Adelaide’s bee population.
These days Aphrodite offers presentations to schools and community gatherings and Beekeeping training from her home in Campbelltown and if required onsite as part of her mentoring program for those that need some hands on practical advice and support with their own beehives at home.
